Online Course Title: Retired ~ Clinical Supervision Part A
  Category: 41
  Credits: 2

Objectives: Clinical supervision, while appearing on the surface to be similar to psychotherapy, is a different relationship, a different set of skills, with unique qualities and characteristics that set it apart. In this program on supervision, you will hear about five different aspects of supervision, some quite different from each other, and some overlapping.
Description: "Dimensions of Supervision" - Russell Haber, Ph.D., discusses the dimensions of supervision from a systemic point of view: how the intellect, skills, emotions, and intuition all play a crucial role in supervisor, supervisee, and client system. "Focal Conflict Analysis" - Jerrold Brandell, Ph.D., presents "Focal Process Analysis," an example of the "classical" model of supervision, a method of helping beginning therapists learn to listen carefully to the clinical process of their patients.
