  Description: Rochelle Hanson, LCP, Ph.D., Psychology, "Overview" defines domestic violence as involving a broad spectrum of abusive behavior and discusses the phases in the cycle of violence. Because many battered women are ashamed to admit that they are being hurt, Dr. Hanson recommends a number of "red flags" that the clinician should look for. Dr. Hanson also presents the primary goals of treatment for a battered woman and the steps in a treatment plan.
