  Description: In the field of addiction training, there remains a significant concern regarding the high relapse rates in this client population. Although not all people who enter the recovery process will experience a relapse, many will. Relapse is a complex and dynamic phenomenon that appears to be determined by both neurobiological and psychosocial processes. Recognizing the signs and symptoms of use, or relapse triggers, as a normal part of the recovery process is imperative in addressing this for clients.
