  Objectives: Learn about the psychological and traumatic impact of being diagnosed with a chronic illness from the perspective of the patient, family and treating professionals.
  Description: This program is about chronic illness: an illness or condition that will not be cured, although we may get better and we may be able to maintain ourselves at a high level. In this program, we will be discussing the impact of chronic illness on the self, on the family, on the therapist, and how chronic illness impacts the work of therapists who themselves are ill. The following interviews make up this course: Marcia Spira, LCSW, MSSW, Ph.D., Social Service Administration, "Adolescent Daughters of Mothers with Breast Cancer" and Joseph McBride, MSW, BCD "The Impact of Diabetes on the Family."
