Identify key events in the history of mental health treatment for adults with a severe mental illness, such as use of asylums, deinstitutionalization, community support
  Description: Starting with the perspective of the people being served, this unit examines the significant role of case management in the mental health and substance abuse treatment fields. Topics discussed include a brief history of case management and mental health treatment and substance abuse treatment, including examining the deinstitutionalization movement, the community support movement, the mental health consumer movement and outcomes management.
