Description:
If you are a new behavioral professional, the communication skills in this course will provide a good foundation. If you are experienced, these will serve as a helpful refresher with content you may not have seen before and will help prevent the ‘drift’ that often occurs when we haven’t been exposed to information for a long time.
The course begins with the two basics of effective communication, listening and empathy. We will review nonverbal listening – also known as body language - and cultural differences in communication styles and nonverbal communication. Communication should follow a process and there are pitfalls which can be avoided. The essence of communication is an understanding between the speaker and the listener, thus we will review question types to stimulate thinking and understanding
