  Description: The course is designed for supervisors, managers, human resource professionals, and others who direct employees. The first three sections cover general information. The last four sections cover information you will need as a person with a higher level of responsibility for employee behavior. This course will review the impact of substance abuse in the workplace and its association with poor performance on the job. Substance abuse is an addiction and very likely will progress, unless there is an intervention in the progress of the disease. This course will examine signs and symptoms of substance abuse specific to alcohol and a number of drugs. We will look at the effects on your organization, your co workers, and yourself, and what your obligations are. We will conclude our discussion with some resources you may find helpful. Included are links to evaluation tools to give you guidance in defining if you or someone around you has a substance abuse problem.
