Description: This course contains detailed information on hazard labels and safety data sheets. This course is designed for supervisors and others who need an in depth knowledge of the labels and sheets. Each day most of us are exposed to chemicals that could present a hazard to our health or safety. Many of these chemicals have become such a part of our daily life that we don’t pause to reflect how exposure could cause us serious harm under certain circumstances. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Hazard Communication Standard is in place and enforced to safeguard employees from exposure that could cause harm. This course may be a part of your organization’s hazard communication plan to introduce you to the labels and the Safety Data Sheets that are required by OSHA for each potentially hazardous substance. On both the hazardous substance label and on its associated Safety Data Sheet, you will find pictograms and text that this course will review. This course will not address specific hazardous substances found in your workplace, but rather give you an understanding of the information you should find on hazardous substances. Keywords: OSHA, Hazard Communication, GHS, Safety Data Sheet, Safety Label
