Objectives:
At the completion of this program, participants should be able to:
• Describe the philosophy of motivational interviewing
• Use motivational interviewing techniques in assessing a client’s needs
• Utilize Stages of Change in identifying the client’s readiness to change
• Integrate Elements of Change in helping clients move forward in their motivation
• Develop skills to manage client counter-motivation
Description:
This course will address practical and evidence-based methods for assessing the client’s readiness to change and ways to assist the client in moving forward with healthy change.
