  Objectives: At the completion of this course, participants will be able to: • Describe the role of psychiatric diagnoses in completed suicides and in non-fatal suicidal behaviors • Describe the rates of comorbid psychiatric diagnoses that occur with PTSD • Describe the role of anxiety disorders in suicidal behavior • Describe the role of PTSD in suicidal behavior • Describe key suicidal risk factors that may need to be considered in understanding the role of PTSD in suicidal behaviors
  Description: Are people with a diagnosis of PTSD more likely to commit suicide or display suicidal behaviors? Recent literature and research on the status of PTSD as a predictor of completed suicide, attempted suicide and/or suicidal ideation are reviewed in this course.
