What do you do when you receive an email informing you that a patient wants to “friend” you? It sounds innocent enough, but unless you adopt certain privacy options available to you, when you agree to “friend” someone, you are opening the door to all your contacts, all your friends and family, and whatever mundane or personal information you are sharing about yourself. Is this what you want in your relationships with your patients?
