Description:
This course presents the basic components of a meaningful pain screening process for clients seeking behavioral health care. Too often, screening for pain in behavioral health settings is modeled after hospital-based screening for the existence of acute pain. In fact, behavioral health providers are more likely to see people with recurring or chronic pain conditions who need effective management of their pain if they are going to achieve relief of their behavioral health problems.
