At the completion of this program, participants should be able to: • Identify the basic features in a symptom self-management plan. • Identify the steps in Birchwood’s Back in the Saddle approach to helping people with schizophrenia define triggers, warning signs and responses • Identify the basic steps taken in using cognitive behavior therapy to help people who feel out of control of their voices redefine their power relationship with their voices and, thus, be able to manage them differ

Description:
The general goal of this course is to introduce you to symptom self-management, for people with schizophrenia and/or certain psychotic symptoms. You may be involved in helping your clients develop symptom self-management programs. It is important that you understand the basic features required of such plans as well as some of the strategies used to help those who may need extra support in order to effectively design and implement symptom self-management plans.
