This course utilizes a case study as it reviews the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s Practice Parameter for Depressive Disorders among Children and Adolescents as well as more recent research on the topics of confidentiality, screening, treatment phases and components, and prevention of Major Depressive Disorder in child and adolescent populations in order to help clinicians become better skilled at screening for and treating youth with Major Depressive Disorder as well as identifying youth at-risk of developing the disorder. This is a one hour course and targets case managers, social workers and other social service professionals in the child services and related fields.
