Description:
This course presents key information, highlighting Titles I & II of the HIPAA law. This course is targeted to substance use disorder providers who are looking to gain an understanding of HIPAA and how this law relates to them either personally or how they must comply with it in their day-to-day operations. Substance use disorder providers are also subject to Title 42 Code of Federal Regulations Part 2 (42 CFR Part 2) titled Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records. This imposes some requirements beyond those of HIPAA. This course describes the additional regulations imposed by 42 CFR Part 2.
