OSHA - Office Ergonomics v.6

Clock Hours: 1

Objectives:
By the time you complete this course, you should be able to: • Describe what ergonomics is and how it relates to your workspace • Recognize early symptoms of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) • Choose and use the appropriate workstation equipment • Explain work tasks that may lead to pain or injury • Explain the importance of reporting and addressing early indications of WMSDs • Understand procedures for reporting work-related injuries and illnesses as required by OSHA

Description:
A safe and healthy workplace is required by OSHA and a benefit to both the employer and the employee. Since the 1990s the incidence of injuries due to poor work environments and poor workplace practices has diminished. This is due to improvements in devices available, modifications to work practices, and particularly awareness of both employers and employees in ergonomic practices. The goal of this course is to give each employee an understanding of ergonomics, what tools are available, and what can be done to minimize workplace injuries in an office environment.
