At the completion of this program, participants should be able to: • Assess the impact of child welfare involvement on the AOD patients • Demonstrate knowledge of Adoption, Safe Families Act (ASFA) and the impact on treatment and aftercare planning • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of Child Welfare professionals as partners in the patient’s recovery • Demonstrate advocacy skills • Establish collaborative relationships with Child Welfare Agencies • Coach patients in developing a healthy balance with recovery and family issues
