• Identify and define the scope of environmental cleaning;
• Identify categories of environmental surfaces and differentiate between high-touch and low-touch environmental surfaces;
• Differentiate low-level from intermediate-level disinfection and turnover cleaning from terminal cleaning;
• Recognize the standards of practice and regulations for environmental cleaning in health care facilities; and
• Identify procedures and policies that are compliant with environmental cleaning standards for health care facilities.
